In either case, use a little bit of Fiery Wall of Protection Oil to anoint the candle. If you are seeking protection, keep the candle turned towards you or anoint it with oil by pulling the oil up from the base toward the wick. If you are attempting to dispel adverse energies, anoint the candle with oil pushing it down the candle.  Write out your petition on a piece of parchment paper or brown paper bag. Then, place the candle in an appropriate candle holder or on a plate and set that on top of your petition.  Then, light the candle and recite Psalm 141 and/or Psalm 90 or make direct requests for St. Michael's intercession.
